Of course, the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control are relentlessly pushing the idea that: this is a spreading epidemic, and it is caused by COVID-19, a new human coronavirus.
Now, the US Centers for Disease Control is rolling out a program to test Americans (e.g., travelers who have been to China). As time passes, the program will likely pull larger numbers of Americans into that net.
The CDC program immediately raises two problems: why bother testing for a virus if it isn’t really causing human disease; and what kind of test is being done?
In this article, I’m focusing on the type of test, and whether it’s accurate, even if you assume the coronavirus is causing disease.
Antibody tests are notorious for cross-reactions. This means factors in no way relevant to a given virus can make the test read positive. In that case, the patient would be falsely told he “has the coronavirus.” But it gets worse. Traditionally, antibody tests reading positive were taken as a good sign for the patient: his immune system had contacted a germ and defeated it. Then, starting in 1984, the science was turned upside down: a positive test was, astoundingly, taken to mean the patient was ill or would soon become ill.
The PCR test (which requires excellent technicians who will not make any number of possible mistakes) takes a tissue sample from a patient which might contain a tiny virus particle(s) much too small to be observed—and blows it up many times, so it can be seen. However, the test says nothing reliable about HOW MUCH virus is in the patient’s body. Why is that important? Because millions and millions of replicating virus in the body are necessary to even begin talking about actual illness. A positive PCR test, nevertheless, will be taken to mean the patient “has the epidemic disease.” —An even deeper issue: where is the PRIOR PROOF that the PCR is testing for a virus that actually causes disease?
The prospect of these two tests being done on Americans is not comforting, to say the least. People will be roped into believing they are “epidemic cases,” and therefore need to be isolated, and treated with highly toxic antiviral drugs.
In the event they become ill, from the drugs, they’ll be told “the coronavirus is doing the damage.” In some cases, this will result in even further dosing with the same drugs, at higher levels—a disaster.
A very small percentage of doctors are aware of the profound shortcomings of these two diagnostic tests. Most of them will shrug off their doubts and perform the tests anyway, because refusal would endanger their careers and medical licenses.
This is the sordid drama now unfolding in the American landscape.
It’s not just America. The same tests are being done all over the world.

After decades of anecdotal evidence, the scientific community is finally beginning to accept the fact that what we eat definitely plays a role in brain and mental health.
5 years ago, a group of 18 scientists discovered that “the emerging and compelling evidence for nutrition as a crucial factor in the high prevalence and incidence of mental disorders suggests that diet as important to psychiatry as it is to cardiology, endocrinology, and gastroenterology.”

Two years later, a 12-week study, known as the “SMILES trial”, focused on the impact of dietary support compared with social support in 67 people who suffered from moderate to severe depression and ate unhealthy diets. After the 12 weeks, 32 percent of participants receiving dietary support achieved remission, compared with only 8% in the social support group.
I personally learned the value of “making food my medicine” at the age of 15 (holy smokes – 2009!), when I suffered from chronic acne, depression, eating disorders, and anxiety. After ditching refined sugar, wheat, processed foods, and cutting down on meat, my afflictions dramatically improved. When you first start eating healthier, you may think: “Gosh, this tastes like cardboard.” But this is typically a symptom of eating highly processed foods which “shock” the taste buds. As you include more healthy, plant-based (alllll the greens) foods into your diet, you will begin to develop a love for the foods that love you back.
This rule also means to consider the ingredients in your favorite foods. If they contain ingredients your grandma couldn’t pronounce or wouldn’t include in her cooking (Red #40, Yellow #5, preservatives), say “goodbye” to the pro-inflammatory vegetable oils, sugar, and MSG that can worsen ADD/ADHD symptoms and cause “mind-storms.”
If your body is missing out on essential nutrients (which is common in populations that depend on highly refined and low-nutrient food), you’ll continue to crave foods in order to obtain adequate stores of nutrients. This is why you can feel starving even after eating a high-calorie McDonald’s meal. It’s sugar and fat, and your body is literally malnourished.
Instead of focusing on calorie counting, focus on the quality of the foods you consume. The more greens, nuts, seeds, grass-fed meat and seafood, vegetables, fruit, and healthy oils (avocado, coconut oil, olive oil) you consume, the more satiated your body will become over time. At first, you may feel as if you need to gorge yourself. My honest advice is to listen to these signals and help your body know that it isn’t in starvation mode anymore. After it balances out, your hunger should, as well.
By taking steps to maintain a healthy weight, you will help reduce your risk for depression and Alzheimer’s disease (evidence suggests both are worsened by obesity).
Believe it or not, 60 percent of the solid weight of your brain is fat. For this reason, low-fat diets are not good for mental health, specifically when one is struggling with anxiety or depression. Healthy fat sources, such as avocado, wild-caught fish, coconut (oil, butter, shredded, fresh), nuts, and seeds will provide the omega-3 fatty acids your body needs to lubricate joints and nourish the brain.
Just like fat, carbs are not the enemy. However, the quality of carbohydrates does matter, which is why this next tip is to pick colorful, low-glycemic, and high-fiber carbohydrates, such as sweet potatoes, acorn squash, brown rice, and activated legumes, when grocery shopping. These nourishing foods break down slowly and, as a result, will help keep blood sugar levels (and your mood) stable.
It is vital to eat easy-to-digest protein-rich foods to balance blood sugar, which will help keep your mood balanced. Protein-rich foods also help to curb cravings because your body actually feels satiated.
Your brain is 80 percent water. Even being mildly dehydrated can negatively impact your mood, causing you to feel more anxious, tense, depressed, or angry. Skip high-calorie and dehydrating drinks, like coffee and soda. Stick to water, tea, and broth beverages.
Nature provides us an array of tools to improve physical and mental well-being. For example, St. John’s Wort is an effective aid against depression. Yarrow is also soothing for the nerves, and lavender can help provide a sense of calm in the midst of chaos.
In the era of “orthorexia,” I want to clarify that this isn’t a suggestion to aspire to eat perfectly all of the time (which itself isn’t entirely healthy, due to rigidity). Rather, simply consider the source of your food and strive to eliminate all sweeteners, colors, preservatives, and foods in plastic containers.
If you suffer from any brain health/mental health or physical issue, try eliminating sugar, MSG, gluten, corn, soy, and dairy for one month. See if your symptoms improve.
Exercising improves oxygenation to your brain, improves overall wellness, and releases feel-good endorphins. Take care of yourself physically and you WILL reap the benefits mentally and emotionally.

What is the second most popular adaptogen next to panax ginseng? Many readers know it is rhodiola rosea, an herb that helps to ease fatigue, increase endurance and improve mood, in addition to other benefits. A perennial flowering plant, rhodiola rosea grows in the U.S., Europe, Asia and even the Arctic and is also known as golden root or roseroot.
The active compounds in rhodiola — rosavin, rosaridin, rosarin, rosin, salidroside and tyrosol — have been associated with many of its benefits. For example, rosavin is believed to exert antidepressant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory and antioxidative actions.1
Rosavin also created improvements in pulmonary fibrosis in mice, decreasing inflammatory cells infiltration and proinflammatory cytokines expression and downregulating oxidative chemicals.
Salidroside, another rhodiola ingredient, reduced hepatic steatosis in Type 2 diabetic mice, which holds implications for the treatment of high-fat, diet-induced nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.2 Now, another ingredient in rhodiola, an ester called ferulic acid, is being studied and showing new benefits for its positive actions.3
Ferulic acid (FA), a phenolic phytochemical in rhodiola, is also found in rice, wheat, oats, pineapple, artichoke, peanut, nuts and even the seeds of coffee.4 While ferulic acid has been used in skin preparations, many other uses are being explored. It may, for example, have value in treating cancer, diabetes, pulmonary, heart and liver conditions, mental acuity and oxidative stress, according to research in Biotechnology Reports.5
“It has been proved that FA acts as a β-secretase modulator with therapeutic potential against Alzheimer’s disease, and found to improve the structure and function of the heart, blood vessels, liver, and kidneys in hypertensive rats …
Researchers have also proved that at lower concentration, FA reduced the cell death in hippocampal neuronal cells induced by peroxyl radical, while at higher concentration, it diminished the hydroxyl radicals induced by protein oxidation and peroxidation of lipid. FA helped in the reduction of lipid peroxidation in peripheral blood mononuclear cells.”
In an article in the journal Natural Product Research, ferulic acid was found to relieve oxidative stress in rat heart cells. The researchers also explored ferulic acid’s ability to protect against oxygen-glucose deprivation.6
Some of the most exciting brain and memory actions associated with ferulic acid obtained from rhodiola were published in Science Advances.7 Researchers found that ferulic acid ester dramatically improves recall in fruit flies, bees and mice.8 According to Harvard magazine:9
“[Researchers] made a sucrose solution with the shredded-root tea … The team engaged the bees in a classical conditioning paradigm in which they dribbled a tiny amount of sucrose solution onto a toothpick while blowing a particular odor at the animal.
As a result, the bees came to remember the sucrose reward in association with that particular odor, confirming memory acquisition. The next day, the bees still remembered the odor and expected the sucrose solution, confirming memory consolidation.”
Hanna Zwaka, who participated in the research, summarized the results:10
“Imagine you’re learning for a test — that would be the memory acquisition, and in this case, that’s when the bees paired the odor with that reward. The next day, you have to recall the memory, but this recall can also depend on sleep and concentration levels independent of the memory consolidation, which happens after you learn something …
We gave the bees Rhodiola before the learning phase [in which the bees learned to associate the sucrose solution with a particular odor], and we saw that the learning during the memory acquisition worked better than in a control group. When we gave them Rhodiola after learning, in the time when memory was consolidated, they performed better on the next day.”
There were other surprising and encouraging results in the Science Advances study about the effect of “FAE-20” (short for ferulic acid eicosyl ester) in fruit fly (drosophila) larva and mice. The researchers write:11
“We conclude that supplementing food with FAE-20 can improve memory scores in larval Drosophila. Furthermore, FAE-20 can partially compensate for both memory impairments in aged flies and early-onset memory impairments caused by a genetically induced, premature increase in BRP [Drosophila bruchpilot gene] levels in young flies …
Mouse hippocampal CA1 neurons showed increased excitability, and mice treated with FAE-20 showed improved hippocampus-dependent memory … such tests might be particularly promising because of the reported associations between neuronal excitability, synaptic plasticity, and learning …
Moreover, several compounds that increase the intrinsic excitability of these neurons, such as the cholinesterase inhibitor galantamine and the L-type calcium channel blocker nimodipine, improve the performance of old mice in hippocampus-dependent behavioral tasks …
Together, the available evidence shows that FAE-20 is a potent memory enhancer in different species and paradigms and prompts at least four nonexclusive working hypotheses for a mechanism of its action, namely, modulation of neuronal excitability, of the biogenic amine systems, of BRP/ELKS/CAST/ERC function, and of homeostatic autophagy.”
Ferulic acid is often added to skin products because of its ability to fight free radicals, which are thought to contribute to age spots and wrinkles.12 But some research indicates it may also be photoprotective, helping to prevent harm from excessive sun exposure, which is also associated with age spots and wrinkles.
This effect occurs whether ferulic acid is used alone or with topical vitamins C and E. Research in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology says:13
“Ferulic acid not only provides increased stability to a solution of vitamins C+E, but also adds a substantial synergistic photoprotection, essentially doubling its efficacy. Moreover it provides additional protection against thymine dimer formation that should prove useful for prevention of skin cancer.
These studies support the hypotheses that UV radiation produces apoptosis by triggering the caspase cascade in both epidermis and dermis, and topical vitamins C, E, and ferulic acid can protect against caspase activation.”
The effectiveness of ferulic acid in photoprotection is good news, say the Journal of Investigative Dermatology researchers, because:
“Recent studies substantiating the shortcomings of sunscreen protection support the need for a different approach to photoprotection … SPF is a measurement of UVB only and reveals nothing about UVA photoprotection, protection necessary to protect against oxidative stress.
Indeed a recent study of three high SPF broad- screen sunscreens revealed that at 2 mg per cm2 application, UVA-induced free radical formation was reduced only 55% with even worse protection when application levels were decreased.
Sunscreens are designed to be shields for the skin, protecting the skin by absorbing harmful UV radiation. Since they work at the surface of the skin, they are easily removed by washing or rubbing. Antioxidants, in contrast, are designed to work not only at the skin’s surface but also inside skin.”14
Topical application of ferulic acid not only offered photoprotection, it had other benefits, write the researchers.15
“Ferulic acid scavenged hydroxyl radical, nitric oxide, peroxynitrite, and superoxide radical. It was antimutagenic, protected against menadione-induced oxidative DNA damage and demonstrated anticarcinogenic effects in animal models of pulmonary and colon carcinoma …
Topical application … decreased TPA-induced skin tumor formation … [and] inhibited UVB-induced erythema. In a mouse model of multiple sclerosis, oral ferulic acid had a striking effect on syncytin-mediated inflammation and death of oligodendrocytes induced by redox reactants.”
Other studies have confirmed the health benefits of ferulic acid. Research in International Immunopharmacology finds value in ferulic acid in treating depression:16
“Ferulic acid is a hydroxycinnamic acid that widely presents in plant cell wall components. It has been demonstrated that ferulic acid can attenuate depressive-like behaviors in both forced swimming test and tail suspension test.
Considering that depression is an inflammatory related mental disease, our present study was aimed to investigate the role of ferulic acid in the regulation of microglia activation, pro-inflammatory cytokines, nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and nucleotide binding and oligomerization domain-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome in mice exposed to chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) …
[A]ctivated inflammatory response induced by CUMS were reversed by ferulic acid and fluoxetine as well, suggesting that anti-inflammatory related mechanism was involved in the antidepressant-like effects of ferulic acid in stressed mice.”
Research in the journal Medical Science Monitor suggests ferulic acid has anti-cancer properties:17
“This study aimed to investigate the effects of ferulic acid on HeLa and Caski human cervical carcinoma cells and the molecular mechanisms involved … Ferulic acid significantly reduced HeLa and Caski cell viability … Ferulic acid treatment promoted DNA condensation and significantly increased apoptosis in Caski cells …
The effects of ferulic acid were dose-dependent and resulted in cell cytotoxicity and apoptosis of HeLa and Caski cells, and the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway was down-regulated in Caski cells.”
The rhodiola rosea plant has a long history of use in traditional medicine in Russia and Scandinavian countries and is becoming more popular in the U.S. The new benefits associated with ferulic acid, contained in the rhodiola plant, will likely increase its usage.

Fabric softeners are one of the most unnecessary dangerous chemicals that you may be using in your home, and it’s important that you stop right away. There are much better, safer, all natural alternatives that will keep you, your family, and the environment safe. The natural alternatives can also prolong the life of your clothes. Really, we have no reason to have ever invented such a toxic product in the first place.
Fabric softener is one thing, among many household items, that absolutely must go, and hopefully from the awareness that is raised from this article and many others that are exposing these harmful chemicals for what they are, we will continue to see the decline in their use as people continue to opt for safer, cleaner alternatives.
First of all, the majority of conventional cleaning and personal care products can essentially be thrown in the garbage as they are absolutely loaded with chemicals, many of which are completely banned in other countries. We have many safer, all-natural alternatives to these types of things and we simply do not need to be using these to clean ourselves, our home, or our clothes. People sometimes assume that our governments have our best interests in mind and wouldn’t allow ingredients that are toxic to our health into the products that we use on a regular basis, and while that’s a nice thought, it is a naive one.
Fabric Softeners are among the worst offenders in terms of toxicity and it really makes one wonder how these chemical pollutants were approved by the U.S. Environmental Agency in the first place. The purpose of Fabric Softeners is to free your clothes from wrinkles and static cling and of course leave them smelling mountain fresh or like a field of lavender, but at what cost is this “fresh” smell?
According to the Environmental Working Group, fabric softeners contain chemicals and fragrances that can cause skin irritation and respiratory irritation. The fragrance element alone can come from hundreds of different chemical compounds, and yes many of them are toxic.
Interestingly, according to what Anne Steinmann, Ph.D., professor at the University of Melbourne in Australia and a world expert on environmental pollutants and their health effects, said in an interview with New Scientist, “Most exposure to hazardous pollutants occurs indoors, and a primary source for these pollutants is our everyday consumer products.”
New Scientist also has stated that there are no legal requirements that all the ingredients, including potential toxins be listed for most of the products we use every day. While the compounds they contain have been tested individually for toxicity, scientists admit it’s hard to say how dangerous they might become when some are mixed.
Conventional fabric softeners are either a liquid that you pour into the rinse cycle of your washing machine, or a sheet that is thrown into the dryer with your clothes. Both contain compounds that are especially harmful to children. Toxic chemicals can easily enter your body through the skin. One of the worst is phthalates, which are added to emit a fake fresh fragrance, the University of Illinois Cancer center had the following to say about phthalates,
Phthalates [are a] synthetic preservative that’s carcinogenic and linked to adverse reproductive effects (decreased sperm counts, early breast development and birth defects) and live and kidney damage.
Steinmann also noted,
Using a liquid fabric softener? You are pouring these toxic chemicals into the ocean every time you use it. Even worse than liquid fabric softeners are dryer sheets, whose chemicals are heated and then shot into the air for you to breathe into your lungs.
That ‘fresh-from-the-dryer’ smell that fabric softeners impart to your clean load of laundry? Don’t breathe it in, if you like your lungs to function. That super floral smell is masking a seriously unhealthy chemical stench.
Luckily, there are lots, which begs the question, why did we ever start using these horrible toxic products in the first place? Every chemical product that is in use today for personal care or home cleaning could essentially vanish from the Earth and you know what? We would make do.
A simple recipe for a homemade fabric softener is as follows:
2 Cups Epsom Salts or 2 Cups Coarse Sea Salt
20-30 Drops Essential Oil
1/2 Cup Baking Soda
Simply mix all ingredients together and store in a container with tight-fitting lid, add ½ cup directly to your load of laundry.
Some even more simple ideas are as follows,
One half cup pure baking soda added to your laundry.
One cup of distilled white vinegar and about 15 drops of your favorite essential oil shaken in a spray bottle, give your wet clothes a spritz after they are washed, before you put into the dryer.
Don’t worry the vinegar smell will go away.
A crumpled up ball of aluminum foil tossed in the dryer with your clothes can help to get rid of the static cling.
Another great alternative, that is simple, cost-effective, economical and environmentally friendly is the use of dryer balls. You can get the plastic kind that can cut your drying time in half and reduce the static cling in your clothes, but to be more environmentally conscious there are also wool dryer balls that you can purchase or easily make your own.
Here’s what it comes down to, as consumers we have been gravely misinformed and maybe we have believed that there are some kind of standards set in place by our governments, unfortunately, it seems that these protection agencies, for the most part, don’t have our best interest in mind. So, with that in mind, it is up to us to be aware of what we are purchasing, if we stop purchasing these conventional products which contain harmful ingredients such as phthalates and fragrances, then the big corporations will either change their recipes, stop using these chemicals or simply go out of business. As the consumer, we have a direct vote for the types of products that are being produced by how we are choosing to spend our money. If WE don’t want chemicals in our products, we must simply stop buying them and start making our own. We must take responsibility for our own lives and create the type of world we want to live in. It is up to each and every one if us.
